A faulty oven led to a 999 callout last night.

Shortly before 7pm, two fire appliances from the Douglas station were sent to Victoria Avenue, Douglas.

The oven had overheated, creating moderate smoke logging to the ground floor rooms.

Crews checked the surrounding area with a thermal imaging camera to ensure it was safe and used a positive pressure fan to remove the residual smoke from the property.

Crews were there for about 20 minutes.
