This year’s Isle of Man Film Festival has been cancelled.
But organisers won’t say why.
In a statement issued on Monday, director and co-founder Dave Armstrong said it had been a ’difficult decision’ to put the event on hold this year - but that it would be back in 2020.
He said: ’There are many factors and reasons that we don’t want to bore you with and which frankly aren’t important right now.
’The important thing is that, although we are saying "goodbye" for this year, we are already planning our loud and enthusiastic "hello!" for 2020.’
The Isle of Man Film Festival, in its eighth year, was due to take place from September 4 to 8.
We asked Mr Armstrong to explain the reasons why the event has been put on hold but he has yet to get back to us.
