995 return to Jaks in Douglas on Friday night.

The band have been back out there making themselves known to the Manx gig goers again for a while now and recently added Ian Wright on keys and Martyn Cain on bass, he of Post War Stories fame.

The band drop a variety of pieces into their setlist ranging from modern offerings from the likes of One Republic and James Bay via Kings of Leon and Stereophonics to older classics from Jimi Hendrix, The Jam, Python Lee Jackson, The Cult and Steppenwolf amongst many others.

The band will hit the stage from around 10.00pm onwards.

If you’re still thirsty for more on Saturday night, the Douglas based venue play host to rock boys Final Cut.

Featuring Ian Astill on guitar and vocals, Luke Chambers on bass and Ross Doyle on drums, the rock and blues power trio pull out a set that features both covers and their own original tracks.

Influence-wise think Joe Bonamassa, The Eagles, The Police, Radiohead, Muse and Thin Lizzy and you’ll be very much in the right ball park.

Further information on the band can be found at https://www.facebook.com/FinalCutIOM/

Borderline is also out and about this weekend.

Citing influences from the likes of Chuck Berry, Fats Domino, Robert Cray, Albert King, BB King, Willie Dixon, Muddy Waters, and Jerry Lee Lewis, the band that features Heinrich Koop, Keith Randall, Alan Presford and Nigel Johnson in their line-up the band appears at The Creek in Peel on Friday night.

Elsewhere, Dave Holland appears at The Thirsty Pigeon in Douglas this Friday night.

Now Dave, like a fair few of the local musicians, is fairly prolific with regard to his gig quota each year, spreading his talents across numerous Gaiety Theatre productions and also playing with Totally 80s, the 80s era band funnily enough and this Friday is no exception.

Rocking up as a solo effort on keys and vocals this weekend, if you’re a fan of anything from Elton John, Tears For Fears, ELO, The Beatles, Billy Idol, The Boomtown Rats, Sting, Queen, ah the list goes on and you get the idea! Dave’s setlist is incredibly wide, so this could be well worth looking in on if you’re in the area.

Finally this week we head to Sam Webb’s in Douglas where on Friday, Black Water Creek will be in residence.

The band that features Dave Cohen on bass and vocals, Liam Callow on guitar and Ross Doyle on drums specialise in classic rock covers from the likes of Led Zeppelin, Bad Company, Free and Judas Priest.
