Bushy’s TT Village was given a rocking start on Sunday as local bands played for 12 hours in a massive charity fundraiser.

The show, which started at midday and went on until midnight, featured a line-up that opened with bands from Soundcheck and went on to feature Mae Challis and the Funk Brothers, Power Cut, Last Drags, Fugue State, Barefoot Revolution, Slow Decay, Sunset Jet, Bombshell and Symbolix.

More than 1,500 people came to enjoy the music, paying a small entrance fee which went to five local charities: Autism Initiatives, Mannin Cancers, the Lisa Lowe Centre, Rebecca House and Soundcheck Isle of Man.

The final amount raised has not been announced but an initial count put it at more than £8,000.

There will be more great music to enjoy at Bushy’s throughout the weekend and into TT week with a line-up that includes Final Cut, The Birds and the Beards, Little Bitta Rosie, The Tides, 995 and Buncha Skankas. More details at www.bushysttvillage.com.
