The Lieutenant Governor Sir Richard Gozney and Lady Gozney visited Lezayre last week.

He began the day at Butterflies Nursery, where he was greeted by Captain of the Parish Denis Duggan and introduced to Arthur Radcliffe, chairman of Lezayre Commissioners. After touring the nursery, the Governor’s party travelled to Sulby Claddagh to view trees which had been planted in 2018 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the end of WWI.

The party then toured Grest residential home and Ellanbane farm, before travelling to Lezayre Community Hall for a small heritage exhibition and afternoon tea with parish staff, commissioners, MHKs and other guests. The final stop later that afternoon was a tour of Sulby Dam with James Mylrea of Manx Utilities.
