Two local seminars to help improve people’s general health performance during the current pandemic are being hosted on the Zoom online platform today (Tuesday) and tomorrow.

Hosted by Douglas Rugby Club, the health, wellbeing and nutrition seminars are for the whole of the Manx sporting community individuals - not simply rugby players or people connected to the club.

The GHPs will provide support tools to perform life’s daily tasks at the optimum level.

The focus is on three areas that those who join the seminar will hopefully find important to improve their general health.

They are: keeping active (setting challenges); nutrition (fuelling the body for optimal everyday performance); mental health and wellbeing for general health performance.

Those interested in attending one or both of the general health performance seminars should email [email protected] to receive a zoom invite. The seminars will be restricted to the first 100 applicants because of zoom restrictions, but if these fill up more will be run in the weeks following.

This evening, Tuesday’s seminar between 6pm and 7pm will be on nutrition (general health and performance), hosted by sports nutritionist Ben Webb with guest athletes.

Tomorrow, Wednesday’s (also 6pm-7pm) is on mental health and wellbeing (general health performance), with mental health specialist Ali Vondy of Manx Minds, a representative of the Reach IoM charity and more guest athletes.
