Dr Rachel Glover has been named as one of the government’s Emergency Advisory Group members.

She is among several of those chosen, according to the government, to ’provide external advice, insight and perspective to the Council of Ministers and ultimately Tynwald in an informed, professional, balanced and timely manner in responding to ’emergency’ situations (i.e. the Covid-19 pandemic).’

Dr Glover is senior scientific officer for Taxa Genomic Ltd - she resigned from her position in the covid-19 testing lab in October.

In explosive testimony to Tynwald’s public accounts committee, she accused the DHSC of intellectual property theft and deliberately trying to discredit her.

The EAG can also make recommendations to the Council of Ministers ’based on co-ordinated and timely advice to inform decision-making, and to provide fresh perspective in matters pertaining to those individuals’ areas of specialism.’

Other members who have expertise in health care and Manx law make-up the group. They include Live at Home chief executive Jacqueline Bridson and Tynwald representative Robert Mercer MLC.
