The resumption of health services after the pandemic comes under the spotlight next week.

Tynwald’s social affairs policy review committee will be taking oral evidence from Department of Health and Social Care Minister David Ashford MHK, interim chief executive Officer Kathryn Magson, chief operating officer Angela Murray and the acting head of the mental health service, Ross Bailey.

They will also talk about mental health services.

The committee produced a report on mental health services in 2018 and a report on suicide in 2019.

Acute mental health services at Manannan Court were independently reviewed in 2019 at the request of the DHSC by Dr Tommy Dickinson.

The members of the committee appointed by Tynwald are Julie Edge MHK (chair), Martyn Perkins MHK and Peter Greenhill MLC.

The hearing will be held on Monday, July 13, at 4pm in the Legislative Council Chamber, Legislative Buildings, Buck’s Road, Douglas.

The evidence will be taken in public and members of the public are welcome to attend.

The evidence can also be heard via the Tynwald website.
