Forty-four patients were treated in hospital with Covid during the third lockdown.

Figures released in Tynwald show the youngest patient was aged between 0 and nine, and the oldest was over 90. The figures show the number of people admitted to hospital during each of the three lockdowns who had a positive Covid-19 test result up to 21 days beforehand admission or during admission.

A total of 51 Covid-positive patients were treated in hospital during the first lockdown between March 26 to May 18 last year.

The youngest was aged between 20 and 29 but there were eight aged over 90, 16 aged 80 to 89 and 13 who were 70-79.

During the second lockdown in January this year just one Covid patient was admitted, and they were aged between 40 and 49.

In lockdown three, the highest number of admissions - 14 - were aged between 60 and 69. Just five were aged over 70. Three were aged 20-29, four 30-39, nine 40-49 and seven 50-59.

Health Minister David Ashford, in a written reply to a separate question, revealed there have been two people admitted for treatment for Covid-19 more than 14 days after their first dose of the vaccination.

And a written reply by Chief Minister Howard Quayle revealed 79 government employees have tested positive for Covid since the beginning of this year.
