A 53-year-old man from Ramsey has appeared in court after his dog attacked another dog.
James John Murphy Forbes, of Gladstone Avenue, admitted having a dog not under proper control, which is not a criminal offence but a civil matter.
The court heard that Mr Forbes’ French bulldog deerhound cross called Jeff had attacked a fox terrier called Patch, injuring him.
Jeff was said to have been running loose in Ramsey.
When quizzed by police Mr Forbes said he didn’t know where his dog was at the time as his gate had blown off its hinges due to high winds.
In court Mr Forbes said that he had been in poor health and this had resulted in him giving Jeff to the MSPCA since the incident.
He said that he would pay any vet bills relating to Patch’s injuries.
Magistrates took no action in the case.
