The Isle of Man has been named among the top 10 UK islands in the 2026 Condé Nast Traveller Readers’ Choice Awards.

The recognition follows more than 296,356 survey responses from readers across the UK, who rated their travel experiences around the world and identified the destinations they would most like to revisit.

The Isle of Man finished 10th in the category behind Shetland, Isle of Wight, Orkney, Hebrides, Jersey, Isle of Skye, Isle of Arran, Guernsey and winners the Isles of Scilly.

Government tourism agency Visit Isle of Man said the award was the latest in a series of accolades recognising the island’s visitor offering, and follows the Isle of Man’s recent shortlisting in the 2026 Wanderlust Reader Travel Awards.

The Condé Nast Traveller Readers’ Choice Awards are among the travel industry’s longest-running accolades, recognising destinations and experiences across the global tourism sector.

Deborah Heather, chief executive of Visit Isle of Man, said: ‘To be recognised for another year by readers of Condé Nast Traveller as one of the top island destinations in the publication’s UK islands category is a tremendous achievement and one we’re incredibly proud of.

‘Whilst the Isle of Man is proudly a self-governing Crown Dependency with its own unique identity, we appreciate that the category is determined by Condé Nast Traveller.

‘Given that around two-thirds of our visitors come from the UK, this recognition from one of the world’s most influential travel publications and its readership is particularly valuable and reflects the strong appeal the island continues to hold within our largest visitor market.

‘From our UNESCO Biosphere status and rich cultural heritage to our outstanding landscapes, events and experiences, the Isle of Man offers something truly distinctive.

‘Most importantly, this recognition belongs to the tourism and hospitality businesses, communities and individuals whose passion and commitment help create memorable experiences for visitors throughout the year.

‘To see the Isle of Man consistently recognised alongside some of the world's most sought-after island destinations is a testament to the strength of our tourism sector and the collaborative efforts taking place across the visitor economy.’

The recognition comes as the Isle of Man’s visitor economy continues to contribute significantly to the island’s economy.

Latest figures show the island welcomed 352,301 visitors in 2025, with tourism contributing to a visitor economy worth £433.4 million annually.

Visitor satisfaction stood at 99.2%, according to the figures provided by Visit Isle of Man.

The organisation said the results supported its long-term ambition to develop a sustainable, year-round visitor economy and raise the island’s profile in key UK and international markets.

A spokesperson from Visit Isle of Man added: ‘The island’s inclusion among the UK’s top 10 islands highlights its combination of coastal scenery, natural landscapes, heritage, culture and outdoor activities, alongside the welcome offered by local businesses and communities.

‘Together, these qualities continue to attract visitors seeking authentic and enriching travel experiences, strengthening the island's position among some of the world's most admired island destinations.’
