The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for heavy rain.

The whole island will be affected between 8am and 4pm.

The forecast:

Dull today, with persistent and heavy rain through the morning giving a slight risk of some localised flooding, then through the afternoon the rain will turn lighter. Winds will increase fresh to strong for a time from the south, with the best temperature 9 Celsius.

This evening and at first tonight any rain will be light and patchy, before more persistent rain develops later in the night. Then tomorrow the rain will quickly clear to leave sunny intervals, scattered showers and fresh to strong northwest winds.

Continuing very unsettled through the rest of the week.
