The Department of Health and Social Care has said that the island will get the new Oxford Astra-Zeneca vaccine recently approved by The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA).
Director of Public Health Dr Henrietta Ewart confirmed in today’s Isle of Man Government press briefing that from the 100 million doses that the UK has ordered, the island will get its share eventually.
She explained that training to provide the Oxford vaccinations would need to be implemented and once this had been thoroughly carried-out, vaccinations could begin.
No date was given for when the roll-out might start.
