The Clerk of Tynwald's Office has confirmed that it intends to introduce video streaming across all public proceedings in the island's three parliamentary chambers.
Although a precise start date has not yet been set, the office hopes the technology will be rolled out within the next few months.
Public proceedings of parliamentary committees have been streamed since October 2024, while hustings during the election of Members of the Legislative Council were also broadcast in March 2025.
The House of Keys currently makes its proceedings available to follow live through audio on the Tynwald website.
Speaker and MHK for Douglas North, David Ashford, confirmed work was ongoing to bring video streaming to all sittings on social media.
He said: 'We are looking to be able to live stream all sittings. The technology has been being tested over the last 12 months in the Legislative Council chamber, which is what we used (on Tuesday).
'We're not quite there yet with the Tynwald and Keys chamber, so it won't be available this coming Tuesday, just the usual online audio.
'But hopefully very shortly there will be livestreaming of all sittings across all three chambers.'
The confirmation comes after Tuesday's Chief Minister hustings debate for MHKs and MLCs was live-streamed and attracted more than 4,000 viewers.
Whether live video will encourage more people to engage with Manx politics remains to be seen, but the move would give the public another way to see debates and decisions being made on their behalf.
