There will be more coverage of July’s Southern 100 motorcycle races this year.

Tromode-based production company Greenlight TV has concluded an agreement with ITV4 to broadcast two one-hour highlight programmes.

Dave Beynon of Greenlight TV said: ’We’re delighted to continue filming the Southern 100 and to provide extensive UK TV coverage for this remarkable event.

’As always, we will be putting our Isle of Man-based staff and resources into creating vibrant and exciting coverage of the event for ITV and our other international broadcasters. As a proudly Manx company, it gives us particular pleasure to take our Southern 100 programming to millions across the sorld.’

George Peach, race aecretary of Southern 100 Racing said: ’Showing the Southern 100 on ITV4 last year proved very popular with race fans with excellent viewing figures and provided wonderful publicity for the races on the Billown Course.

’We are extremely grateful to Greenlight TV for their continued support in filming the Southern 100 and ensuring it is shown on prime-time television and providing excellent coverage of the races which will hopefully bring more people to the Isle of Man to see the ’friendly races’ for themselves.’
