It is a big day in Manx politics as the House of Keys prepares to choose the Isle of Man’s next Chief Minister.
MHKs will meet at 10am today (Tuesday, October 13) to decide whether Kirrie Jenkins or Chris Thomas will take the island’s top political job, succeeding Alfred Cannan.
Mrs Jenkins, the newly elected MHK for Arbory, Castletown and Malew, could make history as the island’s first female Chief Minister.
Mr Thomas, Douglas Central MHK and current Treasury Minister, would bring more than a decade of experience in the House of Keys.
Both candidates need the support of at least 13 of the 24 MHKs to secure the role.
If neither reaches that threshold, the process could take an unexpected turn, with the possibility of further nominations.
Follow our live updates below throughout the day as the vote unfolds, we bring you the latest from the House of Keys and report on what the outcome means for the island’s next government.
