Loganair cabin crew have overwhelmingly backed an enhanced pay offer - averting the threat of strike action.

Around 80 Loganair cabin crew based out of the Isle of Man, Aberdeen, Dundee, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Inverness, City of Derry and Southampton airports backed the deal which will see an eight per cent increase on the basic pay level.

Improvements to standby payments and allowances alongside a one-off £500 payment will lift the overall package to 11.3 per cent.

The deal will be backdated to April this year.

Unite general secretary Sharon Graham said: ‘The Loganair pay deal only came about because our members were prepared to take strike action, if necessary, to get what they deserved.

‘It’s a good deal which will significantly lift the take-home pay of the cabin crew.’

Next year, a basic pay increase of eight per cent will be applied with the same increase to allowances and standby payments.

A one-off payment of £500 will similarly be applied.

The pay package by the end of the pay deal in April 2028 with lift take-home pay by 21.7% from the current pay level.

Last week, Unite received an emphatic mandate for industrial action with over 98 per cent of Loganair cabin crew in the ballot backing strike action.

Loganair operates flights from Ronaldsway to Manchester, Liverpool, Heathrow, Birmingham and Edinburgh. Its London City route ended on October 25. A summer service to Newquay operates via Manchester.

Carrie Donoghue, Unite industrial officer said: ‘The Loganair cabin crew remained resolute and determined to get a fair pay offer from the company.

‘The deal over two years is well above inflation and it recognises the hard work of our members.

‘We are pleased that Loganair ultimately seen sense and got back round the negotiating table to make an enhanced offer before any industrial action had to take place.’

Loganair chief executive officer Luke Farajallah said: ‘I am delighted that our cabin crew colleagues, represented by Unite, have voted to accept this two-year pay agreement.

‘It provides certainty for our colleagues and for Loganair over the next two years and reflects our commitment to investing in our people and the long-term sustainability of the airline.’
