The Manx Lottery Trust is inviting good causes to apply for funding.

Over the past 30 years more than £8 million has been awarded to community projects, initiatives and organisations by trust.

Each year the charity, a partner of The National Lottery Community Fund, supports up to 60 schemes in the Isle of Man, awarding financial grants.

The trustees consider funding applications, with the aim of supporting as many deserving causes throughout the island as possible.

Charities, communities, parishes, clubs and associations have benefited from grants.

The chairman of the Manx Lottery Trust, Sarah Kelly, said: ’Over the past three decades the Manx Lottery Trust, formerly the Public Lottery Trust, has awarded a substantial sum of National Lottery funding to recipients in the Isle of Man, which have made significant improvements in our community.

’Our assistance is varied and wide-ranging.’

Cash from the trust has helped to improve toilet facilities at the Manx Mueum and renovated facilities including the Royal British Legion Memorial Garden, Dalby Community Hub, Andreas parish hall and Bride Church hall.

Ms Kelly added: ’Our grants have helped fund kit and equipment for Special Olympics Isle of Man ahead of their visit to the 2015 Special Olympics World Sumer Games, a new grandstand for the Southern 100 Club, a new carriage for Manx Carriage Driving for the Disabled, the improvement and development of the pipe organ in St German’s Cathedral in Peel and so much more.

’To be a part of such a valued Manx charity and grant funds to deserving projects and initiatives is truly very rewarding, and we’re looking forward to continuing our work within the local community.’
