Isle of Man Coastguard teams were called to the coastal path in the village on Thursday afternoon.
Posting on social media, the coastguard said: ‘A Coastguard Rescue Team, made up of personnel from our Ramsey and Douglas teams, was mobilised following a report that Teddy, a two-year-old Jack Russell, had fallen down a cliff on the Laxey coastal path and had fallen around 70 metres.
‘Once in attendance, the team deployed cliff technician Ben onto the cliff and Teddy was very keen to tell us where he was and that he was more than happy to be rescued.
‘Thankfully, despite our initial concerns, he had only fallen around 20 metres and appeared to be unscathed and was delighted to be reunited with his owners.
‘We would like to take this opportunity to ask dog owners to keep their dogs on a lead whenever walking them around our beautiful coast.’
