Manannan was forced to return to Douglas this afternoon after a medical emergency on board.

The incident occurred during the vessel’s scheduled 3pm service to Liverpool on Friday.

Manannan’s crew coordinated with Isle of Man emergency services and an ambulance and paramedics attended when the vessel was alongside.

The patient was treated on board then transferred to the ambulance to be taken to hospital.

Manannan resumed its crossing to Liverpool at 4.23pm.
