The Steam Packet’s fast craft Manannan has now completed her scheduled sailings for 2017 and will once again stay in Manx waters until further notice.
The vessel’s 2017 season concluded on November 5, and with services due to resume on March 23, Manannan will undertake her annual overhaul during the winter period.
The Ben-my-Chree will continue to operate services throughout the season, including daily sailings to Heysham and weekend daytime services to Birkenhead.
During her season Manannan:
Operated 758 sailings, travelling 55,000 miles
Had a 99.74 % technical reliability record, with only two trips cancelled
Operated at 99.21 % overall reliability, with just four trips cancelled due to weather
Her main engines accumulated 9,977 running hours
Steam Packet boss Mark Woodward said: ’Manannan has had a great reliability record this season.
’We did have an issue in August due to a hydraulic component failure, but our shore-based engineers and contractors repaired the damage and she was back in service with minimal disruption to passengers and schedules.’
