The Manx Electric Railway brought its main 2026 season to a close with a special journey featuring two historic tramcars running side by side.
The final day of normal operations was on Sunday, November 1, with cars 19 and 21 taking part in a full-line parallel run on the 4.40pm departure from Ramsey.
Isle of Man Railways described it as an incredible weekend, thanking everyone who had travelled on its services during the year.
The parallel run was praised by those who attended, with some describing it as possibly the best end to a season yet. It also provided a surprise for local residents who traditionally try to catch the last tram but had not expected such a special send-off.
Isle of Man Railways has now confirmed the dates on which its services will return in 2027.
The Manx Electric Railway will resume on Tuesday, March 16, followed by the Isle of Man Steam Railway on Thursday, March 18.
The Snaefell Mountain Railway is due to restart on Tuesday, March 23, while the Douglas Bay Horse Tramway will return on Thursday, March 25.
There will still be opportunities to enjoy the railways before then, with special Christmas dining cars, Santa trains and Laxey Christmas Trams taking place during November and December.
Further details about the festive services and events are available through Isle of Man Railways.
The announcement marks the end of the regular operating season across the island's railways, with services now looking ahead to their return in March.
Further information about special services, dates and tickets is available through the Isle of Man Railways website at rail.im.
