Weather forecasters have issued another amber warning.

They say we should expect ice and wintry showers.

The forecast from the Met Office:

A mostly dry and bright day, with sunny spells and only isolated wintry showers this morning. The west or northwest winds will slowly ease with the maximum temperature 6 Celsius.

A frost for a time this evening and at first tonight, but with spells of rain, starting as snow over the hills, later in the night with very strong southeast winds.

Friday will see further rain, only slowly clearing later in the afternoon, then mostly dry in the evening. Southeast winds will turn westerly and remain close to gale force.

Rain overnight into Saturday, clearing to showers for a time but rain will return later on Saturday.
