A new yellow weather warning for coastal overtopping has been issued for the Isle of Man, with exposed promenades and coastal roads expected to be affected overnight and into Wednesday.
Huge waves battered promenades and coastal roads during the latest spell of severe weather, with several routes closed and Laxey Promenade shut to traffic for much of Tuesday.
The latest warning comes into force at 10.30pm on Tuesday, October 27, and remains in place until 1.45pm on Wednesday, October 28.
Fresh to strong south-westerly winds are expected to cause minor coastal overtopping, with some debris possible along exposed coastlines during the next two high tides.
The areas most likely to be affected are the northern part of Douglas Promenade, Castletown Promenade, Shore Road in Rushen and Laxey Promenade.
Ramsey Promenade and Fenella Beach in Peel could also be affected, although to a lesser extent.
The first period of overtopping is expected around midnight, with a further high tide forecast at approximately 12.15pm on Wednesday.
Islanders are advised to take care around exposed coastal areas and be alert to debris on roads and promenades.
