A yellow weather warning has been issued for coastal overtopping on the Isle of Man this afternoon and overnight.

The Ronaldsway Met Office warning covers two periods today (Wednesday, October 14), from noon until 3pm, and overnight into Thursday, October 15, from midnight until 3am.

Strong to near-gale force south-southwesterly winds are expected to bring a risk of slight coastal overtopping, with water and minor debris potentially reaching promenades.

Douglas, Laxey and Ramsey promenades are expected to be affected, with a lesser risk in Castletown.

The risk coincides with the next two high tides, expected at approximately 1.15pm on Wednesday and 1.30am on Thursday.

The warning has been issued by the Ronaldsway Met Office.
