The island’s Met Office has issued an amber weather warning.

It says it will be dry and sunny at first today but cold with a risk of ice over higher ground.

It wil gradually turn cloudy this afternoon with some light rain and drizzle developing later.

Temperatures slowly rising up to 9°C later this afternoon with a light to moderate northerly breeze.

This evening and tonight will be cloudy with further outbreaks of rain and drizzle.

It will be a milder night than of late with temperatures no lower than 5°C as the northwest wind freshens.

Tomorrow will be rather cloudy with patchy light rain and drizzle possible at times, but also with some drier and brighter intervals.

The wind will remain moderate to fresh from the northwest with highest temperature around 10°C.

It will remain largely cloudy on Sunday, with the continuing threat of a little light rain and drizzle, although not amounting to very much. Maximum temperature of 10 or possibly 11°C with a moderate to fresh northwest wind.
