The luxury home of multi-millionaire businessman Doug Barowman and lingerie tycoon Michelle Mone, is up for sale - with an asking price of £25m.

Ballakew, in St Mark’s, is on the market with Chrystals who describe it as ’one of the most important estates on the Isle of Man and one of the finest homes in the British Isles’.

Baroness Mone, a Tory peer who founded the lingerie company Ultimo, is due to marry her fiance Doug, founder of the Knox Group of Companies, later this year.

Set in 154 acres, Ballakew is approached over a long carriage drive, and enjoys a ’prominent, elevated position with an unusual level of privacy’, say Chrystals.

The spectacular nine-bedroom mansion comes complete with a state-of-the-art indoor pool, spa and gym complex and separate staff accommodation.

It has underfloor heating, full air conditioning throughout, an audio visual system and perimeter CCTV.

Chrystals notes: ’With its all-round facilities it is a house equally suitable for summer and winter living, for family occupation or entertaining on a grand scale. The specifi-

-cation and attention to detail employed during its construction are second to none with bespoke handmade cabinetry, specialist wall and floor finishes and highly polished doors.

’Outstanding handmade silk embroidered wallpaper in the hall. The indoor pool has a handmade fibre optic chandelier.

’The house benefits extensively from marble flooring throughout.’

The Isle of Man based entrepreneurs announced their engagement during the last Christmas holidays.

The happy couple shared their romantic news on social media.

Michelle, 47, posted a picture of the pair together with the message: ’I said YES’ .

There is an emoji of a ring in the centre of the picture.

The beaming couple were pictured cuddling up in front of a Christmas tree.

The couple, who both have roots in Glasgow, have now been together for more than two -and-a-half years.

Mr Barrowman and Baroness Mone, who was appointed a Tory peer when David Cameron was the UK Prime Minister, opened up their hearts to a glossy magazine at their home in the south of the island, in July 2017.

In the 2017 Hello! magazine article Michelle said: ’I feel like I’m in a fairytale. A beautiful dream I don’t ever want to wake up from.’

Doug, a father-of-four, and mum-of-three Michelle told the story of their first proper date, on board the businessman’s £30m superyacht.

Michelle said at the time: ’In every way, I came to see that I’d met my match in this amazing man and no one has ever made me feel as cherished or respected.

’Everything about our life together feels so natural; we have fun and laugh so much, we have the same outlook and drive.

’Even our kids could see it was meant to be.’

The couple opened the doors of the Isle of Man mansion, which comes complete with a fully equipped spa, swimming pool and hi-tech gym and its own helipad.

’Michelle has brought love and kindness to my life,’ said Doug at the time. ’I know it sounds corny but it’s true. She understands me.’

In an interview with Isle of Man Newspapers in 2016 Doug Barrowman said that in 2008, when he was looking to relocate from the UK the choice was between the Isle of Man and Monaco. He chose the Isle of Man. He said:’As a northern businessman, and still active in business in the north, it made a lot of sense to come here.’
