The Children’s Centre has a new dedicated quiet room.
The room was funded by the 2021 Manx 3 Peak Challenge, which raised £23,942.03 for the charity.
Crowe’s chief executive officer, Phaedra Bird, said: ’We’re delighted that our support of the Children’s Centre last year has had such a positive outcome.
’For the 2021 Manx 3 Peak Challenge to have raised just under £24,000 is a fantastic achievement which, thanks to the vision of Joff and his team, has led to the creation of this valuable facility which I’m pleased to learn is already much in demand.
’This is a charity that’s transforming the lives of children, young people and families, putting their wellbeing and personal development at the heart of all that it does.
’We applaud such an approach and are pleased to have been able to play a part in helping the Children’s Centre to realise its ambitions.’
The Children’s Centre head, Joff Whitten, said: ’We are very proud to have big ambitions for our charity. We want to be able to support all the children, young people and families who need our help.
’To do this we want to ensure our facilities are world class.
’We simply couldn’t complete projects such as our quiet room without the help of organisations like Crowe.’
He added: ’Crowe’s commitment to our Manx 3 Peaks event helped us have a fantastic fundraising event and raise as much money as we can, which is really significant for us.
’This means we now have a purpose-built quiet space available for use by all the practice team. This space is very important as many of the cases and circumstances we deal with are sensitive in nature.
’Our practitioners now have a place to have conversations where people feel safe and where they can talk in confidence, openly and securely.
’This will make all the difference to the outcomes for the children, young people and families we work with.’
The Children’s Centre has seen a rise of 52% in referrals since the start of Covid-19 and is currently working with 73 local children and their families.
The new quiet room is now booked out at least twice daily to cover a range of sessions and is also used for after-hours meeting-the-parent sessions.
