The Mountain View Innovation Centre near Ramsey has a new sound system after bosses decided the old one wasn’t good enough.

It has been installed in its Babbage’s venue, which is used for a number of diverse purposes - including conferences, keep fit classes, music performances and Christenings.

The system, which cost tens of thousands of pounds, was installed by B&H Sound Services, which recently introduced a system in the Albert Hall in London.

Lindsey Corkill, events, venues and tenancies manager at Mountain View, said: ’Although very recently installed as part of the major development of our Babbage’s venue, the existing sound system wasn’t fit for purpose.

’We wanted and needed a system that would not only deliver incredible sound quality but was flexible enough to traverse the many different types of bookings and events that we deliver within the community.’

The system can use a tablet or smart phone to change sound and mix levels through Bluetooth.

The Mountain View Innovation Centre is on the site of the old film studio.
