This week there were two crashes on the Beinney Phott Road between its junctions with Brandywell Cottage and the Mountain Road.
Police warned residents to avoid the area while they dealt with the situation and to drive to the conditions.
They added that while the slippery weather conditions continued on the Mountain Road and adjoining roads, other road closures may be made.
Despite the challenging driving conditions on the mountain, some people have been making the most out of the snow - including the Hilton family who were visiting the island from their home in Auckland, New Zealand.
For 11-year-old Lily, it was her first ever experience of playing in the snow.
The weather forecast is for the cold snap to continue with isolated wintry showers tomorrow (Friday) and Saturday.
There is also a chance of sleet or snow on the hills on Sunday.
