The police have stated that staff at the Palace Cinema have been the victims of abuse from some customers.

The cinema contacted the police explaining that staff manning the desk and kiosk areas have been facing abuse and aggressive behaviour from certain people coming to the cinema.

The staff at the cinema are mostly teenagers.

The main issue appears to be parents who are trying to bring young children (6 to 8 years old in some cases) to category 15 films.

When challenged and told they can’t come in the staff are being shouted at, sworn at and threatened.The cinema and the police will be monitoring the situation going forwards.
