Work on the next phase of the Promenades reconstruction scheme has got under way.

Following the Festival of Motorcycling, the works continue to extend northwards along Loch Promenade to Granville Street through to Church Road Marina.

And contractors are now also working on Central Promenade.

On Loch Promenade, the focus is on installing underground ducting for high voltage electric cables.

The pedestrian crossing at Granville Street and deliveries to pubs, businesses and hotels are not affected but there are changes to traffic management arrangements.

Parking has been suspended in the area denoted by cones. These areas will be enforced as will the 20mph speed limit currently in operation along the Promenades.

Extra signs will be put up indicating where pedestrians can access businesses when the traffic management is in place.

On Central Promenade, too, the main element of the work will be the installation of underground ducting for new high voltage electric cables.

Parking will be suspended approaching the coned area.

This work will be done in two phases - seaside first, then moving into the centre of the highway.

Phase one is expected to run until September 13 and then phase two will run through to September 20.

The right-hand turn exiting and accessing Spectrum Apartments will be maintained.

And the designated coach bay on Castle Mona Avenue will come into use for drop off/pick up and parking controllers will be monitoring the area to ensure this kept clear of all vehicles except coaches.
