Finch Road will revert back to its original direction later this week.
The road is currently reversed between Mona Terrace and Church Road Marina due to the ongoing Douglas Promenade refurbishment scheme.
The Church Road Marina roundel on the promenade will also fully open.
It is currently exit only off the Promenade.
These changes will come into effect by 7am on Thursday, September 30.
The bus stop and parking on Prospect Hill will also be reinstated at this time.
The Department of Infrastructure and Auldyn Construction have thanked all motorists for their continued vigilance and patience during these changes.
PEEL ROAD
Meanwhile, temporary traffic lights are in place on Peel Road in Douglas.
The three-way traffic signals, approved by the Department of Infrastructure, came into effect last week in the area of the Brown Bobby petrol station and are scheduled to remain for up to eight weeks until November 5.
This is to enable Manx Utilities to undertake essential utility service connections for a new social housing development, for Douglas Borough Council, which will provide 66 much-needed new homes on Peel Road.
Homebuilder Dandara has been working in collaboration with the council on the development of the new social housing scheme since for three years.
Ciaran Downey at Dandara said: ’This much-needed regeneration project will be a real benefit to those who qualify for social housing and the connection of these vital services by Manx Utilities which have been planned for some time now, will bring us one step closer to completion, anticipated by early 2022.
’We appreciate that the temporary traffic lights on Peel Road may cause some inconvenience over the next couple of months although can assure the public that it is for absolutely essential works and will be completed as quickly as possible.’
Adrian Dobbins, executive director of Manx Utilities, added: ’The services required to support this new development of social housing include the installation of 300 meters of high voltage cable to connect a new 11,000 volt substation to the network.
’The new substation has been built as part of the development and will provide supplies for the new homes in addition to securing existing electricity supplies to the surrounding area.
’Waste water infrastructure is also being modified in order to connect the development to the local network.’
