Manx Utilities is holding a public briefing exhibition on the new sewage treatment works proposed in Laxey.

The Cairns, known as the Chalet site, has been earmarked for the new works which aims to bring the village’s sewerage infrastructure up to modern day standards.

This will result in cleaner beaches and significant improvements to the environment, says Manx Utilities.

The displays, taking place today (Wednesday) and tomorrow at Laxey Sailing Club on Tent Road, will outline the background to the project.

It will explain why this particular site has been chosen, and set out the efforts of the design team to ensure the treatment works blends into its environment with minimal impact on residents.

’Come along and learn about the project, then let us know your views,’ said an MU spokesman.

The exhibition will be on display today until 6pm and on Thursday between 1pm and 8pm.
