Abortion campaigners said Tuesday was a ’good day for women’
At the end of the third reading, there were hugs among the members of the Campaign for Abortion Law Modernisation, who had been watching in the public galley.
Spokesperson Stephanie Kelsey said: ’Today is a good day for the women of the Isle of Man.
’By moving to take the bill through its third reading today, Bill Henderson MLC has put abortion reform back on track.
’The next stage is now for the recent amendments to be ratified in the House of Keys, then gain approval in Tynwald and then we are hoping for swift royal assent.’
