Health and Social Care Minister David Ashford has taken over the Home Affairs department on an interim basis.

It follows the death of Minister Bill Malarkey last week.

The appointment is due to the legal requirement of a minister to oversee the department.

Chief Minister Howard Quayle confirmed there will be a reshuffle in the coming weeks, probably after the Legislative Council selections are completed on March 12.
