A law that will enable the Isle of Man to keep up to date with international aviation obligations has been given the nod by MHKs.
The Airport and Civil Aviation (Amendment) Bill was given a third reading in the House of Keys on Tuesday.
Enterprise Minister Laurence Skelly said: ’The purpose of the Bill is to introduce new primary powers into the Airports and Civil Aviation Act 1987 to enable the Department for Enterprise to make subordinate legislation for the purpose of meeting the island’s international obligations in respect of civil aviation, and for regulating the island’s civil aviation in general.’
It means that, rather than introducing a Bill to the Keys every time a rule needs updating, the DfE will be able to use secondary legislation.
