Today (Thursday) is the last chance to register your details on the Electoral Register.

Letters were sent out to households earlier this year and there is also an option to register online via the government website, www.gov.im.

It is a legal requirement to complete and return before March 18, enabling residents to vote in the this year’s local authority and general elections.

Even if you’re not voting, it should be completed.

You will still have time to register to vote after tomorrow – the Cabinet Office will produce a register ahead of the General Election, and the last day for registering will be three weeks prior to the date of the election on September 23, 2021.

Anyone registering up to September 2, 2021 will be eligible to vote in the House of Keys election.

Tynwald members voted to delay the local authority elections until July in a Tynwald sitting last week (March 9), after Minister for Infrastructure Tim Baker put forward a motion to postpone the local authority elections until Thursday, July 22, rather than the previous date of Thursday, April 22.

The general election, which decides who become Members of the House of Keys, is still scheduled for Thursday, September 23
