Manx Radio’s output is to be put under the spotlight today.
Tynwald’s select committee on public service broadcasting is to hear oral evidence from Ron Berry of 3FM, Juan Turner of Energy FM and Richard Arning of Isle of Media in the morning.
In the afternoon, it’s the turn of Chief Minister Howard Quayle, Policy and Reform Minister Chris Thomas and Della Fletcher of the Cabinet Office.
On Monday it’s the turn of Treasury Minister Alfred Cannan MHK and Caldric Randall, financial controller
On Wednesday, the chairman of Manx Radio, Bill Mummery, and Anthony Pugh, the station’s managing director, Bill Malarkey MHK and Sue Strang, acting director, Communications Commission, will speak.
The members elected to the committee by Tynwald are Dr Alex Allinson MHK (chair), Tim Crookall MLC and Juan Watterson SHK.
The taxpayer gives Manx Radio £875,000 to pay for its public service commitments.
