There will be more help for self-employed people in the wake of the coronavirus crisis, the Chief Minister has pledged.
The pandemic is already hitting the economy hard.
While there are no official figures yet available, there is anecdotal evidence of dozens of people losing work.
Many companies have drawn up plans for people to work at him. But that’s not a choice in many areas.
Social distancing is likely to hit gyms, hairdressers and pubs, for example, while the self-employed who see work drying up will see their income slashed.
Chief Minister Howard Quayle said he had set up a special team at the Treasury and the Department of Enterprise who were working on the issue.
’They will be working over the weekend and they will be bringing you an announcement of packages with our businesses and people on Monday.’
Asked about business rates, Mr Quayle said that any new details would be announced on Monday.
