New laws on casinos have completed their passage through the House of Keys.

The Casino (Amendment Bill) was granted a third reading last week.

It updates casino licensing to help enforce anti-money laundering rules and regulations to prevent the financing of terrorism.

It also simplifies the procedure for retaining a licence, should a casino move premises.

Treasury Minister Alfred Cannan said the changes would enable the Gambling Supervision Commission to ensure the island’s casino legislation complied with international standards.

The bill will now move on to Legislative Council for further consideration.
