A group of Tynwald Members today travelled to Edinburgh to the Scottish Parliament.

The delegation is headed by President of Tynwald Steve Rodan MLC. The others are Geoffrey Boot MHK, Rob Callister MHK, Bill Shimmins MHK, Tanya August-Hanson MLC and Kerry Sharpe MLC.

The delegation is accompanied by Deputy Clerk of Tynwald, Jonathan King.

Organised through the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association, the visit ’will give participants the opportunity to examine the procedures and practices of the Scottish Parliament, focusing on legislation, committee work, youth engagement, and other topics of interest to individual participants’.

There will also meet the Presiding Officer of the Scottish Parliament, Ken Macintosh MSP, and other MSPs from all political parties, many of whom have previously visited the Isle of Man.
