The Post Office is advising that its services ’will continue as much as possible, while seeking to protect the health of its people and customers’ during the ongoing circuit breaker lockdown.
All staff are observing social distancing and PPE is being worn, with letter deliveries continuing to be made five days a week (Mon-Fri) and parcels six days (Mon-Sat).
It has asked customers ’to refrain from approaching their postman on their rounds, and ensure any dogs are kept securely on their property during a doorstep delivery.’
Interaction will also be limited by not handing over its hand-held devices to capture signatures, instead logging the name of the recipient.
parcels
Where a parcel is being delivered which will not fit through a letterbox, postal staff are placing the item at doorsteps, where it is safe to do so. If not staff are leaving a ’while you were out’ card advising of other ways customers can arrange to get their item, with a 23-day collection period for any items retained.
Self-isolating customers unable to leave their house can arrange a redelivery of the item instead at www.iompost.com/redelivery.
business
Business customers will still receive regular deliveries and collections, but time-related premium services may be subject to delay. Businesses requiring alternative services are asked to contact [email protected] or 698444.
The Post Office is accepting inbound Special Delivery, Parcelforce24 and Tracked items as normal, but advises it may not be possible to deliver all items on day of receipt.
MiCard customers, particularly those who may be vulnerable, can nominate a proxy to collect benefits or pensions on their behalf via forms available in all sub post offices or at: www.iompost.com/covid-19-coronavirus/changes-to-the-retail-network/.
A number of post offices will be operating on revised opening hours, with the latest information available at: www.iompost.com/tools-forms/branch-finder/
