Manx Utilities say Pulrose power station was not affected after a section of roof cladding was dislodged by the high winds.
Pulrose Road was closed for two hours as a precaution after a small section of the cladding that overhangs the gas turbine power station was damaged.
The main roof of the building escaped intact.
A Manx Utilities spokesman said: ‘There has been some wind damage to a small section of the gas turbine power station roof, during the storm this morning.
‘The main roof of the building is intact and the damage is restricted to a section of cladding that overhangs the building.
‘Pulrose Road was closed for two hours during the height of the storm this morning as a precaution from sections of cladding that were dislodged by the exceptionally high winds.
‘Engineers have assessed the roof as safe and repairs will be made to the integrity of the roof as soon as this period of unsettled weather has passed.
‘The power station has not been affected in any way.’
