The government is advertising for someone to take on the job of Attorney General.

It follows the death of John Quinn who held the post for more than eight years.

The Attorney General is in charge of the department that prosecutes in court and writes legislation.

While he or she has a seat on the Legislative Council, they cannot vote in Tynwald.

The salary is around £178,000 a year and the post is officially appointed by the Queen on the advice of the UK Justice Secretary.
