Residents are being invited to attend a public meeting this evening to discuss the future of healthcare and residential care services in the north of the island.

Ramsey Town Commissioners are hosting the meeting alongside representatives from the Department of Health and Social Care, Manx Care, the Department of Infrastructure and Public Health.

The event will focus on the future of Ramsey and District Cottage Hospital and Cummal Mooar Residential Home, with members of the public given the opportunity to ask questions directly to those responsible.

It takes place at 7pm on Thursday, August 6, at St Paul's Church Hall in Ramsey and is free to attend.

Ramsey Commissioner Juan McGuinness has encouraged residents to attend in person if possible.

In a social media post, he said: ‘Please come along in person if you can. Bring an open mind, but not an uncritical one.

‘This is an opportunity to ask proper questions and hear directly from those responsible.’

Mr McGuinness added that Ramsey Town Commissioners are hoping to livestream the meeting but urged people not to rely on the online broadcast if they are able to attend in person.
