Ramsey Commissioners is looking to fill the three vacancies it currently has for members.

The northern authority has given notice of election for three vacancies it has in the town’s North Ward, which came from the lack of nominations at July’s local authority general election earlier this year.

Nominations must be submitted by 5pm on Monday, November 1.

Subject to there being more nominations than vacancies, an election will be held on Thursday, November 25.

Board chairman Alby Oldham hopes that some of the unsuccessful candidates for the recent House of Keys general election might fill the seats. He congratulated Lawrie Hooper and Dr Alex Allinson on their re-election to the Keys and hoped to continue the close working relationship with them.

He added: ’It is hoped that the unsuccessful candidates who sought to serve the community as members of the House of Keys, might consider the opportunity to provide that service by standing to fill the vacancies that exist on the commission’.
