Douglas RNLI has postponed its annual commemorative church service on Sunday in response to the current Covid situation.

The service to honour the memory of the lifeboat service’s founder Sir William Hillary was due to have been held on January 9 at St George’s Church.

A statement said: ’The decision has not been taken lightly and has been made in response to the current Covid situation.

’A date for the rescheduled service will be advised when we are able, and would offer our sincere apologies for any inconvenience caused to those who may have already made arrangements to attend.’
