Knockaloe Beg Farm, beneath Peel Hill, opened its farm shop earlier this month as a way of bringing locally produced food to customers while promoting what it describes as ‘kindness and honesty’.
The roadside shop is located in Patrick and operates using an honesty box, with customers also able to pay by QR code or bank transfer.
Jen, from Knockaloe Beg Farm, said the venture had been going well since its launch.
‘Thank you so much for your support so far,’ she said.
‘We set this up because we want to bring you fresh Manx produce, and we want to promote kindness and honesty. Hence the honesty box.’
Among the produce available are fresh Manx carrots, onions, cavolo nero, courgettes, sweet peas, beetroot and marigolds.
The shop is also selling the farm’s first pumpkins of the season, alongside homemade lemon curd and jams.
There are also some sweet treats on offer.
‘The flapjack has been flying off the shelves, and we also have fresh Manx carrots,’ she said.
‘They’re hard to come by because they also fly off the shelves.’
The farm is also selling prize-winning onions which were exhibited at the Royal Manx Agricultural Show.

‘Come on down, and thank you again for your support,’ Jen added.
Knockaloe Beg Farm is run by John and Fiona Anderson and has been in the same family since the 1950s. The couple took over its management in 2005 and have since developed the site into a farm-stay and tourism business.
The working farm now offers B&B and self-catering accommodation, as well as glamping, a bunkhouse and other holiday accommodation.
It also hosts events including Lambing Live and Open Farm activities around Easter, giving visitors the opportunity to experience life on a working farm.
