The Isle of Man annual safety and health conference 2018 was held recently at Mount Murray in Santon.
The event focused on a variety of health and safety topics by speakers from the island and the UK, including Lisa Ramos who told the conference how a forklift accident resulted in her losing a leg.
Peter Quirk, one of the organisers of the event, said: ’Each of our speakers offered a thought-provoking perspective on different aspects of health and safety from the risks of asbestos and dirty air to managing fire safety.’ The event was opened by Lieutenant Governor Sir Richard Gozney who also offered an amusing insight into the health and safety challenges of his time in the diplomatic service.
